A day at the spa...

was just what I needed! Thanks to T-mobile I was able to spend a nice day at Gould's Day Spa & Salon in Memphis, Tennessee. The day started out at 830am (way earlier than I normally ever wake up). I was greeted by two receptionist that showed me to the spa area, away from the hustle and bustle of the Salon. I was seated at the beginning of a long hallway of doors that had "Please Be Quiet, Session in Progress" along each one of them. The theme was asian style, the colors were warm brown complimented by a soft cream, the lights were low and the music sounded Japanese-ish. Carla, was my first technician and she was going to be doing my aromatherapy wrap and facial. She was very prompt and took me to the preparation room where there were scented candles burning. I was given my own locker, a large engulfing robe and instructions to use the restroom if I needed to and wait for her to return shortly. Once I finished she guided me to the first room where the lights were much more dim, the music more noticeable and she instructed me to remove all of my clothing, lay on the bed between the towel and the sheets and once again wait for her to return. The first thing that I noticed was that the bed was already warm. The towels and sheets were freshly clean. Carla returned and asked if I wanted a relaxing treatment or more of an energizing treatment. Once choosing a relaxing treatment she put together a concoction of oils and began our session with a soft, dry brush, full body exfoliation. This was followed by a moderate massage with the warm oils applied using a soft cotton swab. She then fully covered me in a warm towel and topped it with "wrapping" me up in a warm white sheet. I think at that point I was so relaxed I was falling asleep or maybe I was just drifting into unconsciousness but not totally unaware. She started into the facial with a cool cloth across my forehead. Then I remember both warm lotions or oils followed by cool ones. I do remember noticing at one point I was alone in the room or maybe my technician was just "standing by". I'm not quite sure. After that I remember her waking me and saying that I should put my robe back on and then meet her in the hallway so she can guide me to my next technician who will do the full body massage.

AHHH...just reliving it makes me sleepy *yawn*

Night night gotta take my sister to the airport tomorrow morning!
