Last day in memphis...

Well, I didn't accomplish what I came here to accomplish and that was to have a computer my sister can use confidentally. Her PC, that is no longer working, went down on hmm...Monday night I believe. I tried every anti-virus software she had on her pc, then tried rebooting, and lost the ability to go into Windows ME (It had a dual boot system with Windows 2000 and Windows ME) and also tried going into safe mode but couldn't even get to the system restore so I rebooted again and then it came up with the Compaq Bios screen...so after multiple attempts at fixing it and lack of time to try anything else...to no avail IT IS DEAD. I called Compaq which told me that it was out of warranty and that it would be 40.00 to send out some updates...I decided to try Best Buy. Best Buy said they don't even diagnose dual boot systems. I'm hoping that once I get settled in DR I might be able to try something else remotely. My sister is going to have to probably find a boot disk for Windows 2000. Then we might have to reformat the HD and just go from there. I personally would like for her to stay on the eMac that she has now. She was supposed to be sending it to her bf in Cali but I think I have convinced her to keep it. Only thing she needs is more memory because it only has 128MB right now. I have to admit, I know absolutely nothing about Macs so she is going to be on her own as where to find it and how to get it installed. So, basically, we had to pack up the new 64MB vid card, two 256MB of memory, and two webcams (both not the right high end model camera that would be compatible with Mac). At least I'll be getting my money back, I hope.

I still have not packed...not that it matters since I can never seem to sleep the night before I fly anywhere. I just can't wait until I get settled...I can't really take all this traveling...without a place to really call home.

Anyhow...I am not sure when I will be back online...we still have to get the line installed at the place i am staying in DR. I heard it might take about two weeks...^%$&*^...I guess I will survive. At least that will give me time to take some nice pics.

Well, I am off to pack, AGAIN, and maybe get a few minutes of sleep.
